AMS 5537 is the strongest of the fabricable cobalt alloys and is useful for continuous service to 1800°F. It is galling resistant and requires minimum yield strength of 45,000 psi at room temperature. AMS 5537 applications include gas turbine engine combustion chambers and afterburners.
